Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an emergency number, in case I need to reach my daughter?

The Elon Volleyball Camp main number is 336-278-6743 or, if needed, campus security can be reached at 336-278-5555.

Is there a certified athletic trainer?

Yes, we have a certified athletic trainer at all sessions during camp to monitor any injuries or illnesses. He/she will, also, be available during registration to talk to parents and/or campers about specific needs.

How do you divide campers into skill groups?

If you come as a team of 8 or more, that is your group. If you come as an “individual”, you will do a skill evaluation during the first session. Based on that evaluation, you will be put in an appropriate skill group. There is some movement of campers during the first couple of skill sessions.

Is there supervision in the hotel?

We will have multiple camp counselors in every wing of the hotel.  They do nightly bed checks to make sure each camper is accounted for and safe in their room.

Are there airport shuttles to and from camp?

Yes, we have a $60 fee to pick-up and return campers safely from the airport.  If you only need a one-way transport, it is $30.  If you need to take advantage of this service, please let us know as soon as possible. Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU) is 50 minutes from campus and Piedmont Triad Airport (GSO) is about 35 minutes.

Is it possible to come watch my daughter play?

Yes, you can come anytime. Most parents attend on the last day when we are in tournament play.  There will be a final day schedule handed out at registration.

Will my daughter need money at camp?

We have a camp store that has drinks, snacks, and volleyball apparel. You can put cash in the “camp bank” at registration and take out the remaining balance at the end of camp.  We will not return campers money during camp without a parent present.  Residents also have the option of ordering pizza and receiving it at the end of the night session.

Does each camper need a recent sports physical?

No, a physical is not needed. Each camper does need to turn in the Release Statement signed by a parent or guardian. Also, each camper has to turn in a copy of their insurance card. Both of these need to be sent or turned in prior to the start of camp.

What does each camper receive?

Each camper will get a camp t-shirt, water bottle, a lanyard, and camp certificate.

What do campers need to bring to camp?

  • Comfortable athletic shoes
  • Knee Pads
  • Shorts and/or spandex

How do I register?

You can register online via this website, or you can print out the application and send it to the address listed on the application. The cost is the same if you register online or through the mail.

Are there any refunds?

Of your camp payment, $100 is considered a non-refundable deposit that holds your camper’s spot in the camp. Since camp will be sold-out, we unfortunately have to turn many applications away once we are full. If your child is dismissed from camp for disciplinary reasons, there will be no refund.

Will there be a lot of walking?

The facilities utilized by the camp are within walking distance of one another.

What if I need to take my camper out of camp due to a previously arranged appointment?

The parent needs to inform the camp director of any departures from camp. At that time, a departure and arrival time and place will be agreed upon.

Can a camper drive to camp?

Yes. Resident campers’ keys will be collected at the beginning of camp and returned at check-out.  Commuters will be allowed to keep their keys, but not be allowed to utilize their car on campus, except for their arrival and departure.

Where should cars be parked?

There is a parking lot across Williamson, next to the gas station for commuters. There is also parking in the circle lot connected to the gym.  For residents, cars can stay at the hotel.

Is there a GPS address for registration?

The GPS address for commuter check-in at the Koury Center (Alumni Gym) is: 104 E. Haggard Avenue, Elon, NC  27244. However, do not mail anything to this address. It is strictly for travel purposes.  The check-in for residents is at the Best Western Plus.  The address is:  770 Huffman Mill Road, Burlington, NC  27215.
